A reminder to everybody that there are many e_mails that are being generated that are designed to load the web with Hoaxes. Most of them warn of some virus that will burn your hard disk and destroy your computer. You are asked to send a copy to all your contacts. Please DO NOT forward these e_mails. If you are worried check the name of the virus in your search engine and invariably you will find that this is a hoax.
If Internet Explorer seems to be getting slower and in some cases often does not respond go to Tools Manage Add Ins and disable the Add Ins that you do not want. You can also see the time taken for the various addins to load as shown below:
Microsoft Word 2007 will by default save files in a new format signified by the suffix .docx and if your Microsoft Word is an earlier version you will not be able to read the document if it is sent to you. A free download to enable you to read these documents is Word Viewer,
This may be downloaded from
www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3657CE88-7CFA-457A-9AEC-F4F827F20CAC&DisplayLang=en
Whilst downloading the viewer you should also download the Microsoft Office Compatibility pack from the same download site.
During the Windows 7 session we discussed the Win 7 In Box utility which is described below:
For everyone who made the big switch to Windows 7 here is the ultimate Desktop Tool.Windows7 in a Box .Windows7 in a Box was designed to help guide you through the brand new operating system from Microsoft .Everything from Theme settings to Parental Controls.Sits on your desktop,easy to navigate,and puts an end to all the frustration of endless searching for settings.Spyware,Adware,and Malware free.Windows7 in a box can make the complete novice seem like a pro in just seconds.No need to install anything.Sits on your Desktop or wherever you place it(it even runs off of a thumb drive).Just locate what your looking for and click!It cant get any simpler than that.
This can be downloaded from:

A similar set of tools to avoid the frustration caused by searching Control panel for that item that you ill never forget where it is is to make a folder called GodMode
Create a new folder (right-click and click on “New Folder”). Right-click on the folder and click on rename, copy and paste this:
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
